REACH Students

  • BES second graders are currently studying pirates which includes working on mapping skills and creating treasure maps for their classmates to follow in order to locate the buried treasure.
  • Third graders are studying point of view and are reading Cinderella.  They will then write a story from one of the character’s point of view.
  • Fourth grade students are involved in a unit on Vault - Understanding Money. This unit introduces critical financial concepts and skill through an interactive online program.
  • The fifth graders are working with a program called Hockey Scholar. The National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) have partnered to launch the Future Goals program, a North-American initiative that provides students with science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. They have also begun a unit on the Revolutionary War Era and will be reading the book Sarah Bishop.
  • Sixth graders are working on a project called “What’s Right About BES.” A student and staff picture was recently taken of the entire school forming the letters BES (see below). The students are writing about all the good things that happen at our school and will make a short film about “What’s Right in Our School" for the North Country Film Festival.

Chief Jack Anderson visits Preschool

Last week, Chief Anderson came in to read "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" to preschool students.  He  brought along with him a real moose antler for the kids to check out and left it for them to explore further.  Thank you for working with our staff and students at BES Chief Jack!
