Stefan Shapiro is embarking on his first year as the Library Media Specialist at Bethlehem Elementary School in Bethlehem, New Hampshire. With three years of educational experience, including a role as a student teacher in the Teacher Residency for Rural Education (TRRE) program at Lancaster Elementary School, Stefan brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to his new position.
Before transitioning into education, Stefan dedicated nearly a decade to the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC), where he engaged in various outdoor initiatives and conservation efforts. His commitment to environmental stewardship was evident through his volunteer work, such as leading Teen Volunteer Trail Crews throughout New England. Stefan's passion for the outdoors is not only a professional pursuit but also a personal one, as he enjoys adventuring with his daughter, fostering a shared love for nature and exploration. In his role at Bethlehem Elementary, Stefan aims to integrate his rich background in outdoor education with his responsibilities as a Library Media Specialist. He is dedicated to creating an engaging learning environment that encourages students to explore both the digital world and the natural landscapes surrounding them. Stefan's unique blend of experiences positions him to inspire a new generation of learners to appreciate literature, technology, and the great outdoors. |
